WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS

Updated: 3 days ago

I was thinking back to the time when there was a major fire that shut down the main train line that took people from the Bay area to San Francisco. To say that it was mayhem is putting it lightly. There were lines that stretched for blocks where people were waiting for hours just to get on a bus, even the ferries were sold out! I was lucky that there weren’t many people at my bus stop and soon after I got there, a bus pulled up that wasn’t full yet. As we made our trip toward The City the bus gradually began to fill up until it was full. At that moment, I decided to enjoy the scenic route that allowed me to take in different views of the city and ocean as we traveled over to San Francisco. We were in the middle of a major crisis and people all around me were flustered. Although I wasn’t sure how I was going to get back home, I had peace in knowing that I would. Little lessons that I've learned in the past, like this one, seem to pop up right when I need them the most! In times of uncertainty, like the ones we face now, I can’t say that I know how everything is going to turn out but I something inside me says that it will be okay. I don’t know when I will have a living space that has all the necessities that I desire, but it is coming. I don’t know when I'll be able to enjoy the deep authentic friendships that I have built over the years like I was able to in the past, but I know that we will figure it out in this new normal. Lessons like this made me realize that at that moment I didn’t know how I was going to get back home that day, but I was grateful that Spirit made a way for me to get to work. As far as I was concerned, surely Spirit would make a way for me to get back home as well...and it did. Sometimes you just don’t have all the answers in that moment. Sometimes you have to look at what you do have and what you do know and go from there. Every day you have to take the steps that are certain and believe that the ones that aren’t will be revealed to you when it is time. One moment at a time, one step at a time, that is how I am choosing to live my life now. It gives me peace to know that I don’t HAVE to know everything at once and it gives me permission to enjoy what is already presently available to me now. Sending virtual hugs to you all.
