Embrace the Fall Vibes: Boost Your Mood with Color Therapy and the Power of Yellow

It is my favorite season of the year and to celebrate the beauty of fall, lets get into some color therapy and how you can use it to your advantage! Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is an ancient practice that uses the energy of colors to influence emotions, energy levels, and overall well-being. Each color has a unique vibration and can evoke different feelings. Today we will discuss the power of the color yellow and how you can use it to lighten your mood. You can use it in your home decor, wardrobe, and/or meditative practices. The color yellow is one of my go-to colors to enhance positivity and mental clarity.

For me, yellow is the color of sunshine and warmth. It is a vibrant and cheerful color that symbolizes happiness, optimism, and creativity. When you surround yourself with yellow, it can uplift your spirits and help chase away feelings of gloom or fatigue. When you are feeling mentally drained, it has the power to stimulate the mind and boost concentration and focus.

In color therapy, yellow is known for:

  • Boosting energy: It refreshes and revives you.

  • Encouraging optimism: Yellow’s warmth brings along with it the feelings of joy and hope.

  • Stimulating creativity: It sparks imagination while enhancing your problem-solving skills.



Incorporating the color yellow into your living space is a great way to use color therapy on a daily basis. Here are some ways you can strategically place it around your home to get the most out of its uplifting power:

  • Yellow accents in your living room: Pillows, throws, or curtains in a soft yellow can instantly brighten the room. The living room is often a space for relaxation and entertainment, and yellow can create a welcoming, positive environment.

  • Sunny kitchen: Add yellow kitchen accessories, such as towels, utensils, or even a vibrant tablecloth. Yellow stimulates mental clarity and joy, which is the perfect energy you need while cooking nourishing meals for yourself and your family.

  • Office space: If you work from home, yellow is perfect for a home office or study. Consider painting a feature wall yellow or using yellow desk accessories. The stimulating qualities of yellow can help improve focus, productivity, and mental clarity during long work hours.

  • Natural light boost: If a room doesn’t receive much sunlight, yellow can act as a substitute, evoking the warmth and brightness of natural light.



Have you ever felt meh, and you were drawn to more darker colors? If so, then you get the idea of how incorporating color therapy into your wardrobe can have an effect on your mood, whether you are matching your mood or trying to change your mood. Incorporating yellow into your wardrobe is an easy way to lift your spirits. Whether you opt for a bright yellow blouse or subtle accessories like a scarf or handbag, yellow will add a touch of joy to your outfit.

  • For confidence and creativity: Wearing yellow to a meeting or creative brainstorming session can help you tap into its energy, giving you confidence and inspiring new ideas.

  • For a cheerful mood: On days when you feel low, yellow can give you that extra boost of energy and optimism to push through.

  • Start small: If you’re not ready for a head-to-toe yellow look, start with smaller pieces like jewelry, shoes, or a patterned item with yellow accents.



Now you know I love a good chakra pairing! Yellow is associated with the solar plexus chakra (Manipura), located just above your navel. This chakra is the channel for self-esteem, personal power, and confidence. When the solar plexus is balanced, you feel empowered, decisive, and in control of your life. When it’s blocked or out of balance, you might experience feelings of self-doubt or helplessness. To align your solar plexus chakra, you can incorporate the color yellow into your meditative practice. Here are some tips:

  • Visualization: During meditation, close your eyes and visualize a warm, glowing yellow light at your solar plexus. Imagine this light expanding and filling your body with confidence, personal power, and clarity.

  • Yellow stones: You can incorporate stones associated with the solar plexus chakra. Citrine is my favorite, but you can also use other stones such as yellow jasper. Hold the stone in one hand or place it on your navel as you meditate. Citrine is known for attracting success, prosperity, and abundance, while yellow jasper promotes inner strength and mental clarity.

  • Affirmations: As you focus on your solar plexus chakra, repeat affirmations like “I am confident,” “I am powerful,” or “I trust in myself.” These affirmations, combined with the energy of yellow, will help strengthen your sense of personal power.

Whether you’re looking to improve your mood, boost your creativity, or enhance your confidence, color therapy with yellow can be a simple and effective tool. By using yellow in your home decor, wardrobe, and meditative practice, you can tap into its uplifting and energizing qualities to bring more positivity into your life. Remember, even small touches of yellow can have a big impact on how you feel.

So, next time you’re feeling a bit down, look around for some sunshine—whether it’s a yellow cushion on your sofa, a bright accessory in your wardrobe, or a burst of warm yellow light in your meditation. Let yellow’s warmth lift you up and brighten your day.
